Enjoyable story, but I had a hard time connecting with the characters. Ford seemed a bit too much for sweet, innocent Cal. They fell for each other a bit too quickly for me. Poor Cal goes through so much, both with his family's deaths and then with his kidapping ordeals. He is never really given much recovery time from any of these events. I did enjoy the different location, Ford's friendly and somewhat mouthy assistant, and of course, his dog.
