I don't usually like this genre all that much, but was pleasantly surprised by this story. It was an interesting fast read that was very sweet, despite the bad stuff going on.
I would have liked to have seen a little more surrounding what led up to Joah's escape and thought it was a bit coincidental he ended up at his husband's door. But the rest was very sweet. When Joah was culled, taken to be made into a soldier, his memories erased, his husband, Tobin, was devastated but never gave up hope.
This seemed very sad without a chance of happy ending, but I liked how things turned out with Joah's memories and how he and Tobin were able to make more memories after all.
