This story takes place in Georgia, where Chrissie, who comes from a somewhat high society family, was jilted and left at the altar by Russ. Russ’ brother, Colt, has had a thing for Chrissie since he first met her but has kept out of the picture wanting the couple to be happy together. After the big event that wasn’t, Colt makes his move. He stops to check in on Chrissie, checks in with her family, etc. to make sure she is ok after what happened. He then lets some time pass for her to get over Russ before actually making his future plans known to her.
Chrissie was more of a home country girl, as opposed to the high society trophy wife Russ had been looking for, so they were never right for each other. Colt, on the other hand, while the head of the family’s company, is looking for someone exactly like Chrissie. The more he learns about her, the more he is convinced they are perfect for each other, and he quickly sets out to convince Chrissie of the same.
This is a very sweet, sexy and fun story. Colt and Chrissie make a really nice couple. She is spunky and not afraid to speak her mind, which Colt finds refreshing. He banters right back with her. Without the hot sex and phone sex, this could have easily been a Hallmark movie. Nothing real earthshattering happens, and it moves along at a fairly slow pace. I did feel there were some areas that could have been expanded upon, and there really wasn’t a whole lot of angst. Everything seemed to just work out without much help from anyone, but if you’re looking for a nice somewhat easy romance, give this a try.
