I had a difficult time liking much of this story. The slave's beloved master dies and he is bought by another which places him as low man on the totem pole of slaves. He is then punished for his behavior, after which, he gives everything of himself to the new master. Much of the phrasing was repetitive and got boring very quickly. There is also a somewhat unnecessary fisting scene, but it doesn't take long and the story moves on, sort of. Nothing else really happens, and the story is pretty short. Definitely not one my favorite Sean Michael books.
